General characteristics:
Sinop is part of the Teles Pires Hydroelectric Complex, composed of six planned dams on the Teles Pires river and its tributary Apiacás river. The other dams are: Teles Pires (1820 MW), São Manuel (746 MW), Colíder (342 MW), Foz do Apiacás (275 MW) and Magessi (53 MW).
Timeline:
Federal Government expects the dam to start operating in 2014.

Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE), in charge of the studies together with Construtora Andrade Gutierrez, is an agency of the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).
