General characteristics:
- Paute Molino is the largest hydroelectric plant in Ecuador, accounting for about 35% of the electricity consumed in the country.
- The plant is part of a complex of hydroelectric dams planned to use the waters of the reservoir Amaluza. The other plants are: Mazar (under construction), Sopladora (under construction) and Cardenillo (under study).
