General characteristics:

Located upstream of Paute Molino hydroelectric plant, the largest in the country. Mazar is part of the hydroelectric complex planned for the Paute River, which also includes: Sopladora (under construction) and Cardenillo (under study).

Hidropaute S/A is controlled by the state-owned Corporación Eléctrica del Ecuador (Celec).
