Magessi is part of the Teles Pires Hydroelectric Complex, composed of six dams planned on the Teles Pires basin. The other dams are: Teles Pires (1820 MW), São Manuel (746 MW), Sinop (461 MW), Colíder (341 MW) and Foz do Apiacás (275 MW).
